 Hi there admins, this is the collage of screenshots from sidechat last night; we were all very upset seeing how a fairly harmless player who doesn't even know the map got banned because after he died the entire server wanted to know where it was, since the name and the SB tag seems a lot like LongCat's and GunnyHighway's and nobody likes those fellas. I'm upset about an admin using his powers for personal gain or due to being angry about something a player personally did to them ingame, and having the word "Idiot" on the ban message is really an offense and not at all constructive. I think a serious admin should be able to keep his cool in any situation and not throw bans left and right. I noticed sidechat being disabled today, due to what? due to everyone expressing their disagreement with an admin action; way to go for a "New Players Friendly" server. Thanks for your attention. Personally hope that the server go back to normal, because at the moment is hostile. Unfortunately the players who supported the server will go from server.

Hey folks, thanks for taking the time to voice your complaints outside of side chat.
Side chat is a sort of double edged sword. There are many times when it is useful or helpful to players. For example, many people use it to coordinate where to meet up with a team. However, side chat may also be abused or used as a weapon. The person in question, Pulse, unfortunately decided that he wanted to use it as a weapon against another player. This is not permitted by the server rules, and it is not permitted on many other servers. I'm sure if you search for other servers' rules, you will see that side chat is heavily regulated.
Abuse of side chat by using it as a weapon is considered trolling. Trolling is when a person uses text or voice speech to anger, annoy, or disrupt another person. Everything pulse said in side chat was to anger or annoy the person who killed him. There was no logical reason for him to announce the location of the base. He was simply trolling, and was using side chat to get around in-game mechanics.. He was therefore banned for 1 hour to resolve the problem.
Furthermore, the exact server logs show that Pulse was warned not to announce the location of the base because it was not permitted. He continued to do so after being warned, which was part of the reason he was banned. Your pictures do not show that part of the conversation. In the future, if you are going to complain about something on the server, please try to include all information about the incident. Simply picking which parts to show and which parts to hide does nothing to help your complaint.
Finally, the reason side chat was turned off was because it was being used as a weapon. The server owner, Knight Hawk, disabled it because it was simply becoming a problem. Side chat falls out of the realm of in-game-mechanics, and any abuse is considered cheating or meta-gaming. Players do not have the right to use side chat, and it may be disabled at any time to stop it from being a distraction or disruption. Side chat has since been reenabled, and the server rules have been updated to better reflect that any abuse will result in a ban. We will no longer put up with any abuse of side chat.
Thanks again for taking the time to voice your complaints. If some people simply can not understand our philosophy and keep side chat clean and clear, they are welcome to find another server with less or no rules. We welcome mature players who do not cause problems, and if we have to be hard asses to chase away problems... Well, so be it.
